Additional things to have handy are popsicles made of fruit and/or vegetables so you know that your child is also getting some nourishment. Coconut water is wonderful choice for a natural electrolyte replenishment. Juice, water, and other fluids are also great to have on hand to keep baby well-hydrated.
It could be, but it depends if they have just been doing any physical activity or if they are just overheated (heavy clothing, warm temps). Some kids have quite sensitive skin, and flush easily. Also, kids with eczema will appear very flushed without a fever, so again, just go with your keen parental intuition. If they're flushed, take their temperature.
Dress them in light and comfortable clothes. Avoid sweaters and heavy clothes (it's a myth that cold air causes sickness; it's the viruses during the cold season that make you sick).
